Julie Hardy has traveled a long road to H2O Tie Dyes. A self taught dye artist, Julie began dying clothing with store bought dyes, using a simple stove top method to channel creativity. As time went on, she began to buy fiber reactive dyes from Dharma Trading Company, simply following the directions. Dye projects soon became gifts for friends and family.
While working as a RN, Julie sold tie dyed scrubs out of her locker and quickly developed a customer base. Special requests for items followed. Nursing paid the bills, but art was always her true love.
Demand for Julie's items continued to grow and she began entering street fairs and local art shows with success. H2O Tie Dyes then opened a store in the arts district of downtown Winston-Salem. Like the story of the business, inventory at H2O is unique and continually changing. Items are dyed on site and visitors are always welcome!!
